The state and central governments are slow by slow washing their hands off in public health and education. These two sectors are very important as far as the well being of common people are concerned. If any state wants to pose as a welfare state in the real sense of the term it can be seen only in the quantum of allotment it makes for these two sectors. Because of the indifferent and apathetic attitude of the governments in the fields of health and education private entries into them are becoming rampant in the recent past.

108 ஆம்புலன்ஸ் தொழிலாளர் சங்கம் மாபெரும் கண்டன ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்தை சென்னை வள்ளுவர் கோட்டத்தில் 26.07.2013 அன்று 2 மணி முதல் 3 மணி வரை நடத்தியது. ஆர்ப்பாட்டத்திற்கு சங்கத்தின் அமைப்பு செயலாளர்கள் தோழர்.சிவக்குமார் , பால் கண்ணன் , பொது செயலாளர் செந்தில் உட்பட திரளான 108 ஆம்புலன்ஸ் ஊழியர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டார்கள். தோழர் கருப்பன் சித்தார்த்தன் சிறப்புரையாற்றினார். ஆந்திர , கர்நாடக மாநிலத்தில் நடைபெற்று வரும் ஸ்ட்ரைக்கிற்கு ஆதரவு தெரிவித்தும் , ஊழியர்களை பழிவாங்கும் நிர்வாகத்தை கண்டித்தும் கோசங்கள் எழுப்பட்டன. பேச்சு வார்த்தை தோழ்வி அடைந்தால் ஸ்ட்ரைக்கில் ஈடுபட போவதாகவும் தெரிவித்தனர்.

"சமசர பேச்சுவார்த்தை முயற்சி தோல்வி அடைந்ததால், விரைவில், வேலை நிறுத்த போராட்டம் நடத்தப்படும்' என, "108' ஆம்புலன்ஸ் தொழிலாளர் சங்கம் எச்சரித்து உள்ளது.
ஊதிய உயர்வு, எட்டு மணி நேர வேலை, முறையான இடமாறுதல் கொள்கை, அடிப்படை வசதிகளுடன் கூடிய தங்குமிடம் உள்ளிட்ட கோரிக்கைகளை வலியுறுத்தி, அவசரகால, "108' ஆம்புலன்ஸ் சேவை பணியாளர், பல கட்ட போராட்டம் நடத்தி வருகின்றனர்.
இந்நிலையில், சென்னை, தேனாம்பேட்டை, டி.எம்.எஸ்., வளாகத்தில் உள்ள, தொழிலாளர் துறை அலுவலகத்தில், சமரச பேச்சுவார்த்தைக்கு, நேற்று ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது.
இதில், "108' ஆம்புலன்ஸ் சேவையை நிர்வகிக்கும், இ.எம்.ஆர்.ஐ., நிறுவன தரப்பில் யாரும் பங்கேற்காததால், பேச்சுவார்த்தை, அடுத்த மாதம், 26ம் தேதிக்கு ஒத்தி வைக்கப்பட்டது.
இதுகுறித்து, "108' ஆம்புலன்ஸ் தொழிலாளர் சங்க அமைப்பு செயலர் பால்கண்ணன் கூறுகையில், ""சமரச பேச்சு வார்த்தை முயற்சி தோல்வி அடைந்ததால், அடுத்த கட்டமாக, விரைவில், வேலை நிறுத்த போராட்டம் செய்ய திட்டமிட்டு உள்ளோம். இதற்கான தேதி விரைவில் அறிவிக்கப்படும்,'' என்றார்.

Strike by 108 ambulance workers affects services in Punjab

The strike by workers of emergency ambulance service, 108, on Monday affected the emergency health services in the state. However, the staff resumed work in the evening.

Throughout the state, patients and their attendants faced inconvenience as the paramedical staff of the '108' ambulance service suspended work since Sunday evening following a tiff with the management of the private company operating the service.

Ambulance drivers, pharmacists and other staff, who struck work to demand a salary hike and revocation of suspension of 15 of their colleagues, resumed work only around 4pm after the intervention of the health officials.

108 ambulance drivers go on strike in Karnataka

Ambulance services across the State are likely to be affected as drivers and paramedical staff of the 108 services launched a strike on Friday night. The government and the private agency running the service, however, claimed to have made alternative arrangements.

As many as 517 ambulances are managed by around 2,400 drivers and paramedical staff in the State. The drivers and paramedical staff working with 108 ambulance service decided to go on strike angered by the government’s “indifference” to their demands.

R. Sridhar, State president, Karnataka Rajya Arogya Kavacha 108 Naukara Sangha, said that 2,400 people across the State were participating in the strike. However, officials from GVK EMRI, the private agency that runs the ambulance service claimed that only a small number of people were taking part in the strike and the services remained unaffected. The sangha has sought termination of contract with GVK EMRI and accused the agency of harassing drivers and the paramedical staff. They also urged the government to increase the salaries of drivers and the paramedical staff to at least Rs. 15,000 a month.

Meanwhile, a press release from GVK EMRI termed the demands “baseless” and “unrealistic”. “We have made back-up plans to run ambulance with the support of government agencies so that the people do not suffer,” it said.

நமது சமூகம் இரு பிரிவுகளாக செங்குத்தாக பிளவுபட்டுள்ளது. அவற்றில் ஒன்று உடைமை வர்க்கமாகவும் மற்றொன்று உழைக்கும் வர்க்கமாகவும் உள்ளது. நமது அரசும் அதன் நிர்வாகமும் உடைமை வர்க்கத்தின் கைப்பாவைகளாகச் செயல்படுகின்றன. உடைமை வர்க்கத்தின் கைவசம் உள்ள பணம் பாதாளம் வரை பாயும் தன்மை வாய்ந்ததாக இருப்பதால் அது தான் நினைத்ததையெல்லாம் சாதிக்கவல்லதாக உள்ளது. இது ஒளிவுமறைவான விசயமல்ல. இது நம் அனைவரின் அன்றாட அனுபவமாகும்.
