108 ambulance staff seek regularisation - The Hindu

Condition of many vehicles not up to the mark; vehicle maintenance should be improved
Employees affiliated to the 108 ambulance service association have urged the State Government to take over the company and thereby absorb them as government servants.
Staging a demonstration near the Collector's office here on Thursday, the members urged the government to intervene and regulate in their service matters.
Any employee working beyond eight hours should be provided overtime wages. Suspended staff members should be taken back for work without any condition as they were allegedly punished without any reasons by some senior officials.
Further, the agitators demanded to provide proper rest rooms for the drivers and technicians. There are over 60 employees including drivers' and women technicians in Madurai city/district and they parked their vehicles on the roads. Hence, the authorities concerned should take steps in this regard immediately. Vehicle maintenance should also be improved as the condition of many vehicles was not up to the mark, they claimed.
